Did I Just Hate Shopping?
12:22 AM
Music: You Give Love A Bad Name - Blake Lewis

I do not usually shop. But when I do, I usually splurge.

Think about the things that I list. The things that I want. And when the I have the time to roam the mall or whathaveyou, more often than not, I buy what has been on that list. As in one time, big time. But I do not recommend that. It causes a bigger damage in the pocket. Moreso, more scrathes on your card.

I was set to buy three things yesterday (Yes. Since it's already midnight and I am overstaying here in the office to blog. My mom knows that I am not going home due to a meeting but that has been postponed to next week.) : Chucks in Hibiscus color, a shirt for my mom, a gift for my nephew and niece. Did I just say three? well, my nephew and niece that I am talking about are siblings. I was planning to buy something that they can share. But since my niece is also my goddaughter, my plan can change. I was undecided on what to get 'em.

I came off the three malls I went to empty handed. The Chucks are soldout. But the other mall has stocks but are not on sale. 400 bucks is something, dude. I shyed away when I was about to step into this girlie boutique to get my mom something. There were many ladies there. And if I step in, I would be the only guy. But I have went into ladies' boutiques before to get girlie stuff for some people. But yesterday, I just did not feel comfortable. Add the time pressure, as well. I have less than an hour to browse through the things inside. I did not want to be late for work. But I still, I have my budget for these things.

Fortunatelty, the polos I want from Bench were no longer available. I was about to get me a couple. That would roughly be 800 bucks.

Nay, I really am bad at shopping. I change plans 'til the last minute. But I almost always end up with a good buy :p

Alright. I am about to go now.

Cheers!

01.08.07 Mon
6:43pm

Last Saturday was Fun

For the past weeks, I was always late in having my grocery list done.

I now arrive at the supermarket at past 9am. But it was okay since the holidays are over and there are less people now doing their rounds.

But I am not posting anything about time and other shoppers.

I finished my list fast. Before the clock hit 11:30am (and before Korean drama, "It Started With a Kiss" started.. Haha! I am guilty.), I was already home unloading my three grocery bags.

I have some grocery finds that excites me until now. And there are still some that I wish to get in my next stop.

To help me in my cooking indulgence, I got a cooking oil dispenser; a small, steel laddle; a small powder container (since I bought a pack of curry powder that same day); and a peeler with plastoc knife (this my nephews tested after the picked some green mangoes in our backyard).

A set of measuring spoons were already in my cart. But I decided to have it next week. I assumed that my money isn't enough. And I am strictly following my grocery list. But the items mentioned above were not even part of last week's list. So, blame me now. A set of measuring cups also call me everytime I passby that section. Soooooon.

Anyway, one of the personnels assigned to the meat section was a former kindergarten classmate/neighbor. I know that we know each other. We just did not grow up speaking with one another. He, together with his brothers, has been a news in our place, even outside, for their notorious acts.

And dang! He kept on coming back and forth the liempo section. I was suppose to get at leat 1/4 k of it. But he was the only one tasked to weigh and seal it. And I do not want to command a person whom I know. So, I changed paln on what to cook for a Sunday lunch. I got chichen gizzard and liver instead. Easy adodo instead of bicol express.

Upon reaching home, I rested and watched tv for a moment before I proceeded to work my hands on my Oriental Pork ingredients. It was from the kitchenomics website. But I made a twist, accidentally. Instead of using their sweet style spaghetti sauce, I used 2 pouches of sweet blend tomato sauce from UFC. I wrote it wrongly on my list. I kep on looking for a 250 g del monte sweet style tomato sauce but found none. I found a 200 g sweet blend UFC tomato sauce. I got two, which makes 400g, and just increased the amount of other ingredients so I can consume every drip of the tomato sauce.

Oriental Pork was okay. But I did not get rave reviews about it. Plain. I made it a little hot by adding some more curry powder. But I liked it hot.

After eating lunch and a short rest, I went digging some soil in our backyard. The squash that I planted in a small pot was fastly growing. So, the need to transfer it to an open soil was encouraged. I made use of my unused gardening tools.

As I was digging a plot, my two nephews were up the mango tree picking some fruits. I was just right below them. After they got more than 10 mangoes, they went down to eat 'em. I asked them to try one of my latest purchase - peeeler with plastic knife (with a banner on the side: Even kids can use them.)

After they peeled a couple, they helped me make my plot. My two other nephews also gave help. My four year old nephew/goddaughter, Christine, and Gaby. I have a shovel. Jeric had the hand trowel. Akie had the transplanter while Christine and Gaby were grabbing each other hair to use the cultivator.

I gave them some snacks afterwards. I asked my sister to make two pitchers of iced tea and to use the leftover lemon on the fridge. I then asked Jeroc to buy two plastics of cubed ice and some bread from the bakery. I was alone digging some more while watching them enjoy the food and the company of each other.

Ah, I really feeling it to be their tito (uncle).

But yesterday afternoon, those three little kittens got into my nerves.

They destroyed my plot. They've uprooted my plants. They managed to intrude the plant to think that we put some branches to protect them. God thing there were still alive but almost wilting. I buried the roots again in soil and watered them immediately while sprinkling some to those pesky, little kittens (Now, my mom plans to kidnap them from Phoebe and leave them 100 m away from our house.).

And just this morning, before I took a bath and wash the things I used in cooking, I added extra branches to ensure that they will not do it again. Hopefully, when I water them tonight, they are untouched.

Gluttony

I took two sets of meal for my lunch today.

I started off my morning with a cup of coffee. Then, I made myself an omelette (slices of chicken luncheon meat wrapped with scrambled eggs) that I brought here in the office as my official breakfast (as per my New Year's resolution, I am imposing myself to have a decent breakfast everyday.). With it was half a cup of rice.

My lunch was 'pinakbet' (mainly veggies) and a cup of rice. In less than 5 minutes after I consumed them, I went down our food court and got myself a serving of spaghetti and toasted bread.

I dozed off after. A complete pig, weren't I?

But I am still hungry. But no way am I stuffing my stomach with some more food. I feel like farting. Besides, the first thing that I did after I woke up this morning was to take a poop. I had an upset stomach that gives me a feeling of farting and pooping any moment.

So, I am not eating anything until I am home.

Kainis.

Envy: One of the Seven Deadly Sins
6:06pm
Music: Don't Call Me Baby - Freestyle

Nine friggin' hours of internet and being infront of the computer wasn't enough... and realiving.

You see that having a job that let's you sit infront of your computer while being chained in a phone line can sometimes be boring. Take note: SOMETIMES. How many people wishes to have a job like this? I am sure that no kid dreams of becoming a csr when they grow up. But man, the pay is good. And if you are looking for a part time job, this is what I endorse.

Anyway, I think it has been a month that me and my teammates are having a hard time getting personal windows. If you do not know what I mean, 'personal' means non-work related (e.g. gmail, yahoo mail, friendster, blog, PEx, etc.) Oops! Looks like the said examples are my preferred 'personal' windows. Haha!

My brain still functions well though the interesting sites I visit are blocked. And to tell you the truth, I will send this post from my company mail to my yahoo, gmail and myway accounts so that when I blog in some internet cafe, I wil have my posts just like the post I did before this. Btw, see the pictures?

Aside from this long intro, this is something that I really want to blog now. But first, let me thank Time Magazine for choosing me (Huh?!) as the person of the year. What took you so long? I know I was a late bloomer when it comes to internet and stuff but I've been hooked in this online thing back in 2001. Also, let me congratulate you, and if possible shake your hand, for being more or less like me when it comes to everything that is technology.

Alright, I envy a number of people. Not that I wish to be in their shoe. But to do or experience what they do at a young age. I am not old, you creep. I can pass for a college dude. Bus conductors never fail to ask if I am a student :p.

There are a lot of blogs that I like reading. And these blogs are from kids younger than me. If I was a teen, they would fall to pre-teens. Hihi. I am amazed by their knowledge on photography, htmls, graphics and everything that's visually stimulating. Of course, they write pretty well also. But let me also give credit to their schools and to their passion to create a decent blog.

If only I had better choices in college, I would've taken up multi media arts or advertising or ab comm arts or a course that's all about computer application. But I would prefer to have the set of friends and classmates in my real college life.

I am lusting for a nice SLR. I am dreaming of the latest and most user-friendly, techie pc. I need a hefty amount of money to send myself to a computer learning school. I WANT TECHNOLOGY. I WANT NEW FRIENDS WHO WILL INSPIRE AND HELP ME DISCOVER THIS SIDE OF ME.

Know why this techie thing seems to be frustrating?

My blog has at least 3 pop ups once opened. When I access it here in the office, those are being blocked. When I did outside last night, i freaked out to see one window opens after ther other. I didn't know what to close first. But I want more than about my blog. I want knowledge. Naks. Seriously, I want to see a full operational website of someone, say, my college org or just an online album of my batch. Multiply account may seem easy. But customizing it is another thing.

From these college kids, I tend to ask myself on my whereabouts when I was in college. Yes, I got hooked with the internet. The techiest thing that I did was to make a nice powerpoint/e-card for my friends.

Aside from the choices these kids have, I also like their gadgets. Not that I want to take 'em away from them. I've never had a decent mobile phone until I was about to be on my first job back in 2003. For the record, my sister lent her 3210 to me on the first month of 2002. I bought a SIM card for it with a P100 worth of call/text. But I wasn't able to consume it and I did not bother to get myself a prepaid card. See, I am never a mobile phone person. But I admire its latest models.

Now, what am I browsing? Hear ye! It's villman's.com. Perhaps, another gadget that will be added on my list is an mp3 player. And just yesterday, I found the pair of pants I was looking for. And I am considering to buy another Chucks come next year. The last two are not gadgets. But still, all is luxury.

So, that these things will not swallow me, I am keeping an list that I need to obey, better limit.

******************

It was my sister's and father's birthday last Wednesday, the 27th. Happy birthday to them both.

Also, some pictures from last Friday's dinner are already in. I am not posting any yet until I have the complete file and have sorted which to post.

Happy weekend and HAPPY NEW TO ALL OF YOU!!!
